Delay Abortion…Decide Adoption

November is “National Adoption Awareness” month. My husband and I adopted our two daughters from India. Twenty five years ago our oldest was born during a storm that knocked out  electricity, increasing the distress of the pregnant 15 year old struggling too many hours in labor.

That dark, stormy night, a young boy named Carey led the ninety children living in the “House of Hope” with a prayer for a safe birth. Our first daughter, Bethany, was born soon after.

Six months earlier, bio-mom traveled to the big city hospital to end her “illegal” pregnancy. God had a different plan for her unborn child. The abortion was “delayed,” resulting in a full-term baby… and 18 months later an adoption!

Out of India

God gave us a baby

Just like Moses

Saved to serve the Lord

Precious Bethany

Daddy’s little princess

Sweet and loving

Momma’s baby girl

Early morning phone call

Long awaited message

God has surely answered

“Born, a baby girl!”

Tiny special baby

Born among the orphans

Subashini and Carey

With Santhamama’s care

Given to our family

Long awaited daughter

Suffering and praying

Remembering God’s Word

God gave two mothers

One we must pray for

The other so very blessed

To hold you in her arms.

“Pure and lasting religion in the sight of God our Father means that we must care for orphans and widows in their troubles, and refuse to let the world corrupt us.” (James 1:27/NLT)

The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it!
