Michigan legislators may vote this month on a “Right to Work” bill in the State Senate. Our Republican Governor agreed to hold this legislation off last month’s ballot, if Unions would do the same with their “Forced Unionization” Proposal 2. Rick Snyder kept his word…but the Unions did not! Prop. 2 did not pass and now there’s a chance for Michigan workers to opt out of Unions.
In 2010, Terry Bowman founded Union Conservatives to voice objection to the traditional Union power hold over workers. Mr. Bowman has been a member of the UAW for the past fourteen years. He and fellow Conservatives are permitted to express only a portion of their constitutionally guaranteed First Amendment rights. They are free to associate, but not free not to associate!
Terry Bowman continues to be forced to “contribute” to the Union that “permits” him to work in Michigan. Unions here control “their” employee’s hiring, wages, positions, and firings. Employees essentially “work” for the Union, not the company!
“Right to Work” is the law in 23 States. Michigan needs to join them!
“There is nothing better than for people to enjoy their work…” (Ecclesiastes 3:22/NLT)
