“Patsy” was my mother’s childhood nickname. She prefers to be called by her given name, Patricia. Maybe it’s because a “patsy” is a negative reference to a gullible person.
The Gospel Coalition interviewed Pastor Voddie Baucham on his view of “politics in the pulpit.” He made a great argument for Christians being politically involved. Politics affects life, therefore Christ-followers are obligated to be in…politics and life!
In August I was elected as Precinct Delegate for my Township. Soon after, I found myself thinking, and often saying, “I don’t like politics!” I have refined my dislike to “partisanship.” I do not like to be pressured by, nor do I want to become, a schemer, strategist, or Republican!
I object to the manipulation that political parties often use to hold power. The partisans manipulate the gullible with arguments that are meant to accomplish their causes. In reality these partisans are the patsys…Party Patsys!
Check out Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz on any argument at all! She is the perfect example of a gullible tool for a political party!
I’m not yet sure where I can best serve my country in and around the political system. I am convinced though that politics is not the problem…it’s partisan patsys!
Jesus said, “See that no one leads you astray” (Matthew 24:4/ESV)
The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it!
