Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years…it’s the “social season.” Parties, gifts, family get-togethers, and lots of spending, are encouraged throughout these five weeks.
“The way that you act in a group of people,” was a recent contestant’s answer on Glen Beck’s Moron Trivia. The question was, “What is Socialism?”
The contestant answered correctly. Socialism is how people interact in a group. Social interaction through “forced sharing” to achieve “equality,” perfectly describes Socialism!
This Christmas I intend to be equally generous with my seven grandsons. It’s my choice, I am not forced to give!
The social season is a time of sharing… best done as a choice, unexpected and never demanded!
“We showed you how to pull your weight when we were with you, so get on with it. We didn’t sit around on our hands expecting others to take care of us. In fact, we worked our fingers to the bone, up half the night moonlighting so you wouldn’t be burdened with taking care of us. And it wasn’t because we didn’t have a right to your support; we did. We simply wanted to provide an example of diligence, hoping it would prove contagious. (2 Thessalonians 3:7-9/MSG)
