Do Tell

This morning the Connecticut school massacre is being blamed on our nation’s mental health system. We’re being told that “troubled” young men must be treated so they don’t hurt others. When we encounter a troubled person we’re supposed to “Tell someone…do something!”

Do what? Tell who?

I know a few troubled young men. One left me a phone message suggesting he was going to do “something bad.” The Sheriff informed me that I could ask a judge to “commit” this person to a mental facility for evaluation. After thinking through the “threat” I decided it was not directed at others and probably wouldn’t be a serious problem…as the forced-commitment would!

Our children need to be reached before they become angry and dangerous!

In this country it is legal to offer “religious education” to children who attend Public Schools.  Bible Club Teams are teaching children about God…His love and laws. Where I live in Michigan, there are weekly Bible Clubs in dozens of schools.  Hundreds of others lack teaching teams. Churches all over this country could sponsor a Team, reaching and then following up on these children and their families.

Why is that not being done?  That is something to DO!

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” (I John 4:7-8/NIV)

The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it!
