At times I carry a concealed weapon…but I never play “Hang Man!”
Clearly there are differing opinions on violence.
All civilized people want “peace”…but through what means? Ancient peoples were offered peace from their enemies…if they would submit to having their eyes gouged out! Not surprisingly, wars followed.
Back in the “Cold War” days, the US and Russia were nose-to-nose…keeping the peace. Violence threatens today the same as ever, and it still takes two to prevent it!
There have always been loud voices promoting domestic and international disarmament. Those with experience and wisdom know that ironically, true peace is obtained by a type of threat for violence. To have peace one must be prepared to fight!
Nationally and individually we can defend the weak and fight the bullies…if we are willing to sacrifice our own safety…to accomplish a hope for peace.
Thus, my concealed pistol…not meant to hurt any innocent person. Beware though, if you are intent on harming my loved ones…I plan to be extremely violent!
“God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.” (Matthew 5:19/NLT)
