Faith in Doubt

By: Susan Bea Good

Doug, a recent caller to the Rush Limbaugh radio show, had an interesting observation about politics and religion.  He pointed out that many people have a “blind faith” in government…while at the same time doubting God’s role in their lives.

Star Parker was once a drug addicted welfare mom. Today she’s the founder and director of CURE, and an outspoken conservative who encourages others to rely on faith, freedom, and personal responsibility…not in government!

After years of addiction, promiscuity, four abortions, and chronic dependency on government, Star received forgiveness for her sins, through faith in Jesus.  Soon after, she realized that God was her only true source of strength.  She admits, one of the hardest steps of trust occurred when she began to live by faith…through hard work, rather than by welfare…through government dependency. She states, “I contemplated the magnificent riches of God, the One who’d created the universe. I realized if He could do that, He could help me with my bills.”

What is truly necessary for a life of contentment and satisfaction?  Only a faith in your Creator and a trust in His Big Picture will give you what is really needed in this life…no amount of government aid can provide this!

“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19/ESV)

The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it.”
