Intolerant Troublemaker

By: Susan Bea Good

Jesus loved the doer-of-evil, but condemned the evil-doing…and was crucified for His “incorrect” version of tolerance. He  was the ultimate Trouble-Maker!

Christian teacher and author Josh McDowell, wrote a book sharing his perspective on today’s versions of tolerance…the “positive and negative.”

The traditional definition of tolerance is a positive-acceptance of the individual, even while disagreeing with their point of view.

The new tolerance is negative. This version doesn’t reject any point of view, (unless it is biblical)…and must give it official cultural support…AKA “Pretending that something is OK, though you know that it is not!”

McDowell describes the new tolerance as an insidius “nothing” which eventually becomes the very definition of “peace.”

Though the world craves peace, this type cannot differentiate between right, wrong, good, or evil. Instead, it destroys all values, and eventually all who attempt to hold on to them. Today those who stand for something, are increasingly being viewed as the “trouble-makers” of the world.

McDowell warns that within five years the world will define many of us as bigots. Jesus gave a warning too…that His followers would be rejected for their commitment to positive tolerance.

This new tolerance is a wake-up call to serious Christians.  The time has come to “set your minds on things above”…because these days, those who follow Christ are not being tolerated!

“I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33/ESV)

The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it!
