Missed Shots

By: Susan Bea Good

Hilarious!…watching the POTUS shoot and miss 2/22 at last weekend’s Easter Egg Roll.

I was not very coordinated in gym class. Mrs. Verduin didn’t have much use for me in Gymnastics, Swimming, or Track.  Then came the basketball unit. The first day I made 18 of 20 freethrows…a “natural” said Mrs. V. That was a good day…followed by more good days of playing b-ball in High School.

These days I enjoy coaching the game.  A good coach offers each player opportunities for growth, in the game and personally. Basketball is a sport that rewards hard work… anyone can improve with practice. A dedicated player will take hundreds of shots each day…training muscles to “remember.” During a game season there are starts, pauses, progress, regress, and hopefully in the end…character growth…and lots of game-wins too!

Our President needs to play more basketball. No…not to keep him out of the White House…but to teach him the lesson of the sport. Hard work rewards!

Barak Obama doesn’t work hard…he admits to being “lazy.” That is apparent, as he signs on to the work of others.  Many others! He’s been in the office for over four years, and no one knows for sure who he is, where he came from, or what he really believes.

What has he accomplished through his own labor?  No doubt, much has been done during his “leadership”…but what has he done?

That’s the problem…multitudes of special interests are working to change this nation and the world…the President goes along with the worst of them, but never really succeeds in anything of his own.

It’s actually very sad, and embarassing to watch…like the Easter b-ball shoot out.

“Whoever is lazy regarding his work is also a brother to the master of destruction.” (Proverbs 18:9/ISV)

The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it!
