Antoine’s Advice

By: Susan Bea Good

In 2010, Antoine Dodson offered a safety warning to residents of his Huntsville, Alabama neigborhood…”Hide your children, hide your wife…and hide your husbands too!”

His advice became an Internet sensation after an interview with a local TV station, the morning after the midnight break-in…when he thwarted an attack on his sister. In the weeks to follow, he was offered travel and perks by national and international media markets…to repeat his hilarious moment. Antoine’s “warning” quickly became a U-Tube favorite…with a musical remix available for sale as a cell ring-tone.

Mr. Dodson’s flamboyant femininity was encouraged…adding to the humor of his interviews. In other words…the normally PC media joined in the mockery of this hero…for a laugh!

Three years later, 26 year old Antoine Dodson has surfaced again. In a Huffington Post interview where he revealed his personal turn…away from the homosexual life of sin. He explained that he was changed by…”Readin’ the Good Book!”
Godly wisdom has been added to this brave man’s character. When he realized that he wanted a family…a real family…one that had a chance to survive, based on love and purity  instead of unholy selfishness…Antoine chose to resist sin!
“He who sits long enough in the Word can teach…Run and tell that!” (Kevin Antoine Dodson, 2013)
“God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. And because of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption…”(I Corinthians 1:27-31/ESV)
The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it!
