Not OK

Daniel Dobson says it’s OK

I was young Daniel’s teacher in his elementary school’s release-time Bible Club. He was the “preacher’s son”…and a sweet child. When I learned of his “revelation” last week, I reacted the same as everytime I hear of another outed-gay, “that’s too bad, life is gonna get real sad for them.” Though I am told to believe that there is relief in finally “living truthfully”…I see it differently. It seems obvious to me that the lie is homosexual living, and truth is in the resistance to life-altering sin.

IT’S NOT OK to live in gross, public, habutual sin…and worse, to encourage others to follow your example.

Interviewed by a local Grand Rapids religion reporter here in Michigan, Daniel declared, “Because of what Christians say about gays and lesbians, they don’t get to share Jesus at all. They hurt the kingdom and they hurt Jesus. What they’re saying cannot possibly be led by the (Holy) Spirit.”

As a Christian, I am very offended by Daniel’s comments, that people like me are hurting Jesus and His Kingdom…all because of our obedience to God’s clear commands on this and other sin subjects.

My message to Daniel Dobson…”Shame to you, when you declare God’s Word to be a lie…that’s how sin entered this world in the beginning!”

Not the popular opinion, to be sure…

“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality…” (I Corinthians 6:9/ESV)

The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it!
