Last week I set out to get a few interviews…expecting a little drama, but not an explosion!
Whenever you take a risk, make a commitment, say “Yes” to a challenge, touch a sensitive nerve…you may be sidetracked.
Years ago I began using a strategy of “questioning” rather than “confronting.” While this method helps to disarm, it doesn’t always open a path of friendly communication.
If you are committed to truth…identifying it, understanding it, and exposing it…you will be “put out”…that is, scolded, maligned, punished, and even rejected for your effort!
I was surprised by the put outs last week…and tempted to quit asking questions…getting off-track.
But I won’t stay there! Whether the truth is biblical, political, societal, or historical…truth is always a fight!
I am blessed to have a few people in my life who will encourage me…always truthfully. I do not stand alone!
Perhaps you are an encourager…I hope you know that your words are lifesaving to someone who is being sidetracked!
Today I’m back…preparing for this week’s fights. I will not fear my e-mails or incoming calls and texts. I’ll make every effort to be balanced with truth and grace, as I choose to stay on track!
“Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.” (Proverbs 4:25-26/ESV)
