I forced myself to watch the President’s speech last Tuesday, and was relieved that he took only 30 minutes to explain his latest approach to the Syrian “Red-Line” problem he created.
This Red Line, steming from Obama’s foolish statement made last year, is coming back to bite all of us. There is now a real possibility that our President may take us into another war in the Middle East!
Russia and China are sending warships within reach of any military movement we might make towards Syria. And of course, Israel is threatened with annihilation…in an “If you hit us, we’ll hit your friend” mentality that most of the Muslim world possesses.
“Urgent” issues are overwhelming us…there seem to be too many to keep track of these days.
The tactic of “distract and advance” is being used on Americans. This president is engaging in a dangerous overreach of “crises”…when there are too many targets we tend to turn away, unable or unwillling to focus any longer.
In basketball an unexpected furious passing focus can be successful in distracting an opponent long enough to advance the offense to the basket. Before the defense even understands the root of the momentum the play is over, and the goal has been reached!
I see a similar thing happening today in America. Obamacare continues to threaten our economy. NSA spying capability grows with a massive data storage facility in Utah almost completed. Attacks on our traditional values through the Common Core Curriculum continue full force this year in our Public Schools. And now there is the Syrian “Red Line”…
We need a “Time Out”…but this isn’t a game.
The only way to fight an all out fast and furious attack is to keep up a matching unrelenting defense. Regardless of fatigue, we must stay in the fight until the threat is past.
America is at a turning point. We are quickly moving away from prosperity through freedom, and straight towards a poverty of body, mind, and spirit.
The liberal offense is not going to stop until it has destroyed everything good in this nation…unless Conservatives fight…and stay in it, until the “game” is over!
“…Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith…” (I Timothy 6:11-12/ESV)
