I started writing this blog post last March, it stayed in my draft file until tonight.
“In the fall of 2013 Rush Limbaugh conducted a rare interview with Ted Cruz. They discussed the effects of the 2012 filibuster, and subsequent attacks Cruz received from both Liberals and the Republican Party. Soon afterwards news media representatives began receiving negative “insider” reports, designed to cut down Cruz’s effectiveness as he focused on defending the nation from Obamacare and other destructive policies.
“Pioneers attract arrows” said Rush. Anyone who steps forward and out of the crowd can expect to be attacked. Senator Ted Cruz and the Tea Party movement know this as well as any these days.
Fast forward to this week, Senator Cruz announced on Monday that he was stepping into the 2016 race, and again he is being attacked, by both Parties.
This battle is intense and at times the lines are blurred. When Cruz states that he’s running for President to heal our nation from the damage done by Liberalism in America, he’s aiming at both Parties. Because many Republicans are actually Liberals, the battle has become as dicey as ever in our nation’s history.
These are times of great consequence. The world is increasingly looking like a war zone, every national economy is suffering, global sovereignties are threatened, and ethical morality is nearly extinct.
Can one person change all that? I believe that the right leader can turn this world around. I have hope that God will allow America to provide this leader. Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee, or another truly conservative candidate may be willing to take the arrows and complete the task.”
Yep, not much has changed in a year.
“Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.” (Psalm 112:6-8/ESV)
