Van’s No Joey

By: Susan Bea Good

Joey is a grandson with a special sincerity that melts my heart…he really means what he says. Last week he turned three years old. Grandpa and I were taking him on his first candy store date.  “I so ecited!”…he exclaimed while entering our car.

A short while later he overheard us talking about our teenager’s math tutor students, AKA “tutees” in our house. “Toot” is one of the “naughty” words at Joey’s house. When he thought he heard grandpa and grandma using it, he ever so honestly shared, “Hey, you guys, ‘butt’ is a funny word too!”

Joey’s innocent sincerity contrasts immensely with one of the President’s men, who’s recently returned to the media spotlight. He’s a fascinating example of a deceiver…disarming, disingenuous, dishonest, and destructive!

Van Jones appears daily on CNN’s updated “Crossfire” show along with other liberals and conservatives, such as S.E. Cupp.  She’s an intelligent and oddly common-sensical Atheist Conservative…and he’s a Marxist!

Jones made headlines early in Obama’s reign, when his radical social, political, and “fundamental changing of our nation” views were publicized. He disappeared for a few years, but he’s back!

If you can stomach the Left’s tactics it might be worth viewing Van Jones on Crossfire. His smooth delivery and “caring guy” facade are indeed seductive. It’s very hard to doubt someone’s sincerity when they speak confidently, claiming to have only the best intentions.

God may be blessing this nation with a few “revelationaries” to counter the revolutionaries. Ted Cruz recently matched Van Jones blow for blow. The contrast was startling, and reminds us all to be on guard for the insincere.

Jones’ deep deceit contrasts Joey’s sweet sincerity. Van is no Joey!

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus, is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.” (I John 4:1-3/ESV)

The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it.
