Please, Keep Your Shoes On

By: Susan Bea Good

This morning my Mom referred to “the other shoe dropping”…regarding my Dad’s health.  Dad is fighting to live a good life.  He has bravely pushed through the last 25 years, fighting cancer and its aftermath.

I’m beginning to realize what it means to push through life. When I was younger, I wasted a lot of it…not realizing that Life is Short!

Now in my fifties, I’ve developed a focus that cannot be surprised by life’s random assaults.

Of course life is not random, as the Creator and Sustainer of it has a purpose for every part.  Even still, life must be attacked and fought for to be realized at its best.

I do hope my Dad’s shoes stay “on” much longer…even if Mom has to remind him where they are sometimes.

“So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim Your might to another generation, Your power to all those to come.” (Psalm 71:18/ESV)

The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it
