I’m Tired! For many reasons I’m trying not to make that statement out loud anymore. Though every week seems like a hurdle a bit higher than the last.
Most days I feel too overwhelmed to even look at the “big picture” on my calendar. But then I get a small break, like the days after Thanksgiving…when I don’t have anything urgent pressing in at the moment. How quickly boredom sets in.
Boredom is not good. Like the breakfast-time visitor to the Three Bear’s home…I find that “just right” is best.
Sometimes all we need is a short rest. Even Jesus took “breaks”…short portions of time to be quiet…praying for peace, strength, and wisdom.
It’s a challenge to maintain the “just-right.” I suppose God made us this way for a good reason. At times we may need to take a rest, but an emotionally healthy person will always find themselves craving another chance at challenge.
Thanksgiving is over, Christmas is just weeks away, and the official basketball season starts tomorrow…close enough to “just right” for me!
“Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30/ESV)
The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it.
