Family Failure

By: Susan Bea Good

I currently volunteer as a JH Girl’s Basketball coach. One of my families doesn’t like how I operate. In my opinion, our area director hasn’t stood up correctly to the pressure of this situation. The result?…I’ve been second-guessed and told to change or go!

When the mouthy arm-grabbers ramp up their protests, it is very hard to hear other voices. Not many are willing to make the effort to understand both sides. It’s often easier to tell the accused to “stop causing trouble”…allowing the true offenders to proceed.

I know a family who, for years, permitted injustice to go uncorrected within their home. Damage was done. The entire unit became weaker, as they tolerated the inside bullying of their members. This family failed itself!

The Republican “family” is currently failing itself. One of its members, former Congressman Dave Agema, is being attacked from the inside, for communicating strong moral convictions…an offense to most politicians. This Republican Committee Chairman is being told to “Shut up” or resign! Even previously respected elected conservatives and “insiders” have voiced strong disapproval of his expressions of conscience…second-guessing him.

Conservative leaders are foolishly applying the “grab by the arm” tactic to Agema…which encourages the true offenders of conservatism!

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” (Proverbs 16:3/ESV)

The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it.
