Cumming’s Chummings

For decades my dad fished off the South Florida coast. One of Dad’s secrets to success was his chum mixture. Chum is a messy mix of rotting fish, cured to a state of revulsion, resulting in a smell that travels across a great distance. If properly done, chum attracts the attention of target fish, while camouflaging the deadly hook aimed at a sharp catch!

Democrat Congressman Elijah Cummings recently attempted a Congressional-chumming. He threw a strategic temper tantrum, at the close of Lois Lerner’s latest hearing, lasting longer than the witness’ numerous claims of her 5th Amendment right. News outlets claimed that Republican Committee Chairman Darrell Issa was a bully and a bigot, for adjourning the hearing without allowing Cummings to finish his rant. Reports focused on the suspected rude behavior of Issa, not the strange theatrics of Cummings.

Surprise, surprise...breaking news this week, Cumming’s had direct involvement in the case of IRS Director Lois Lerner’s shenanigans against Tea Party groups seeking 501-C4 status before the 2012 re-election of Barack Obama. Apparently e-mails went to and from Lerner’s and Cumming’s offices, some making requests for copies of IRS documents on private citizens…strictly against the law!

It seems that Representative Elijah Cummings is desperate. Desperate to cover up his involvement in serious crimes. Desperate to change the focus from Lois Lerner’s IRS to anything else!

Finally the catches are coming to the surface. Due to a relentless search for the truth, and despite the smelly surroundings, the connivers and cheats are almost hooked!

“The wicked earns deceptive wages, but one who sows righteousness gets a sure reward.” (Proverbs 11:18/ESV)

The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it.
