When my grandkids drop over one of the first things they ask is, “Can we have a treat from the grandson jar?” And almost immediately there is a conflict…because each wants to have priority-access to the jar. Sometimes the jar runs low…at which time I am informed, with urgency, that someone needs to fill the jar again!
Something similar is happening these days with the dependent-class in this country. Its members have begun to realize that government freebies are running low. The current flood of dependents from Central America are putting a strain on the flow of resources usually directed to a specific prioritized citizen-dependent. The growing illegal dependent-class is now threatening the status quo.
It’s interesting how everyone wakes up eventually. The working class has always been awake, figuratively and literally. The dependent class, usually too bored, lazy, and selfish to notice current events, can’t miss what’s coming to their neighborhood…more competition for low rent housing, more students in PS classrooms, increased restrictions on EBT credit, and fewer social services for all.
Now even the takers are beginning to understand that there is a limit to how many can live off the makers. Soon many are going to find the jar empty, and it probably won’t be Obama’s newest clients.
“…If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living.” (I Thessalonians 3:10-12/ESV)
The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it.
