Looking For the One

Conservatives are calling for the one candidate that can win in 2016. Many are hoping to find the next Ronald Reagan or even another George Washington!

My personal favorites include Dr. Ben Carson, Senator Mike Lee, and Governor Scott Walker. I’ve no doubt that any of these would do a very good job as President of the United States. But none of these men are the “one.” Each has his own weakness, either personal or political. Each lacks something on some level.

There is no perfect candidate. We need more than just one to lead us out of the mess we’re in. We need millions of “ones”…conservative citizens taking serious their personal responsibilities in families, government, education, and the world.

Christians are commanded by God to be “salt” and “light”…the salt adding flavor and the light showing the way. If more Christians would participate in the flavoring and lighting of this nation, we may finally emerge from these recent bland dark years.

When you get right down to it, there is just One with the ultimate remedy for all of our troubles. He has already told us how to live in this problematic world. He personally showed us how to deal with injustice, pain, and even death. He is the Answer for those who are looking for the One.

“Ah, Lord God! It is You who have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for You.”                 (Jeremiah 32:17/ESV)

The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it.
