Get Ready!

It was Nick Jonas who recently reminded me of the message from a song I used to sing in my Baptist youth group, over forty years ago…”Get Ready…Jesus is coming!”

Earlier this month young Mr. Jonas posed provocatively for photos promoting his eagerness to participate in “new things.” Online readers are responding to his “all grown up” persona with either horror or homosexual hummings. Those who appreciated the wholesome goodness of the Jonas Brother’s Band are saddened to see this young man waste his life searching for fame and fortune. The community of the perverted are thrilled to welcome fresh meat into their debauched clan.

In these precarious days of ISIS and Ebola it is hard to understand how people continue to remain ignorant and unprepared for impending worldwide catastrophe. All my life I’ve heard preachers warn that “the end is near!” When I was very young I hoped that the end would wait a bit longer, because I had things to do. But God’s timing is sovereign, He will act exactly when He has planned, and His closing scene will be dramatic!

Jesus promised to return for His Bride, the Church…and I’ve no doubt this generation will see Him “descending from heaven with a shout! As the dead in Christ arise and we who are alive and remain are caught up together with Him in the sky!” ( (I Thessalonians 4:17) His imminent return is the “glorious hope” we hold in our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ!

So, to all of the Nick Jonases in America…stop wasting time…there’s not much left! Either you choose to “be ready”…or be caught unaware in that terrible and wonderful day when Jesus returns for His own.

“For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark…” (Matthew 24:38/ESV)

The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it.”
