1976 was an interesting year. Jimmy Carter became President, our nation celebrated its Bi-Centenial birthday, I graduated from High School, and Bruce Jenner became the Olympic Decathlon winner.
The grueling two-day Decathlon competition includes the 100 meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400 meter run, 110 meter hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, and a 1500 meter run. Jenner not only won the Decathlon, but his 8,617 points broke the world record for this ten event competition. What a man!
Flash forward to 2015. Bruce Jenner is now a three-time divorced father of ten kids, old enough to collect Social Security, and planning soon to become a “new woman!”
If you don’t watch “Keeping up with the Kardashians” or catch the latest celebrity news, you may have missed Jenner’s descent into madness. According to the man himself, “My whole life has been leading up to this point.”
For the past year Bruce Jenner has been officially “transitioning” into a resemblance of the female gender. He has reportedly revealed personal details of this journey to ABC’s Diane Sawyer, to be presented to the public in prime time this Friday.
The case of Mr. Jenner’s transition into Ms. Jenner is disturbing and sadly becoming too common. The first official case of male to female sex-reassignment took place in the 1930’s. This experiment resulted in the death of the patient. By the 1960’s surgical techniques had become more advanced, and the number of reassignment cases rose dramatically. Today it is estimated that as many as 500 of these surgeries are done each year in the US, and many more throughout the world.
The surgical “change” marks the official start of a new life. Psychological counseling and hormone treatments precede the major surgery, after which the new “woman” must attend to a strict regimen to maintain cosmetic femininity, and function of the rearranged tissues.
After the surgery Bruce is reportedly going to legally change his birth certificate to represent his new “female” persona. “She” will then begin her new life. In the meantime Jenner’s children and their mothers are left with a mess, each struggling to offer politically correct expressions of tolerance and acceptance, with common claims of, “We’re just happy that Bruce is in a good place.”
“As I live, declares the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways…” (Ezekiel 33:11/ESV)
