As the number of my Facebook friends covering their faces with rainbows rises, so does my anxiety over the gay-marriage issue. I don’t like confrontation, I don’t want people to be unhappy with me, and I do want to please others. However, I will not apologize for my apologetics.
Biblically based foundational convictions and principles demand my attention, they can only be acknowledged or denied. I have chosen to acknowledge the teaching and commands of my God, and will continue sharing those with others. What I will not do is deny God’s Word because a friend or relative suggests that it is not “loving.”
God’s Word is clear that sin is anything we think, say, or do that breaks God’s laws. Though mine are paid for, by the blood of Jesus Christ, I still have to work at avoiding sin. Homosexuality has never been a temptation for me, but I have my own struggles with sin. All humans do. Those who follow Christ are not perfect, but we’ve been assured that He will finish His perfecting work in us when we meet Him in Heaven.
For those who do not know Jesus as Savior there is no hope outside of Him. You will never be able to overcome sin on your own. Sin will rule and eventually ruin your life, now and for eternity. Biblical apologetics holds the only remedy for sin.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23/ESV)
The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it. Adonai Eloheinu!
