Women Rule the Womb!

Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb

Ectogenesis may someday eliminate the process of pregnant women carrying babies to term and giving birth. As predicted, by the mad scientists of reproduction, future gamete partners (biological parents) will be nothing more than sources of product of conception (unborn babies) to be transferred into artificial wombs until viability is attained. Men then will have as much power over reproduction as women. For now though, men are still essentially helpless bystanders, and women still rule the womb!

In November of 2013 actress Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb produced two daughters together. Almost three years later these girls have yet to be born. Sadly the couple split before the babies could be implanted into a womb. These children were conceived in a petri dish and are currently languishing, frozen as embryos in a California Reproductive Center. Loeb, who believes the lives of his daughters began at conception, wants to father his offspring. He is suing for sole custody of the girls in an attempt to save their lives. Vergara however, is having none of a that…she wants the embryos destroyed!

“These embryos are not inside her body,” argues Loeb’s lawyer. This mother’s right to abort should not automatically apply to a baby living outside of her womb.

Today in America a woman can obtain an abortion of her unborn child at any time throughout the nine months of gestation. While fathers have no legal rights in these matters, “mothers” are granted god like power over life and death. The rest of society can only stand quietly outside of clinics holding signs begging these powerful women to reconsider.

Ironically the Vergara-Loeb children have a better chance at life because of their current location…in a nitrogen tank in a Beverly Hill’s clinic, and not in their mother’s womb.

“The wisest of women builds her house, but folly with her own hands tears it down.” (Proverbs 14:1/ESV)

The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it. Adonai Eloheinu!
