Teh’chi Yisrael…Israel lives!

Netanyahu before the UN

Netanyahu before the UN

By: Susan Bea Good

“We have, we are, and we will!” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke before the UN today offering assurances regarding his nation’s commitment to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Interjecting a 45 second “death stare” at the UN members he added, “there will be no more passivity in the face of genocidal enemies.”

Netanyahu’s speech was no doubt incited by the actions yesterday of Russian President Putin, who began bombing within Syria, strengthening our enemy Assad and Hezbollah-Hamas supporters in the region. The move signals a bold change in the Middle East, one that threatens Israel in biblical proportions.

The pricey possibility of war is now so high for Israel that Netanyahu has offered to immediately restart peace negotiations with Palestinian President Abbas. With the US President Barak Obama failing to stop the nuclear weapon ambitions of Iran, Israel understands the impending threat to their existence.

As Christ-followers we are aware that God has predicted the great war upon Israel, perpetrated by its enemies in the area, led and fed by Russia. This week’s move by Putin makes that prediction seem very close. We know also that God’s plan, though awful, will usher in true eternal peace for Israel.

Teh’chi Yisrael… “Israel lives!”

(Prayer of Asaph) “O God, do not keep silence; do not hold Your peace or be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make an uproar; those who hate You have raised their heads. They lay crafty plans against Your people; they consult together against Your treasured ones. They say, ‘Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more!’” (Psalm 83:1-4/ESV)

The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it. Adonai Eloheinu!
