Six inches of first-snow is expected tonight in my “neck of the woods” here in Southwest Michigan. My car tires needed replacing before the storm, so yesterday I squeezed in a late afternoon appointment at the tire store. The customer waiting area had its TV channel fixed on FOX, which would normally be enjoyable, but yesterday it hit me with a negative moment of deja vu.
Two years ago I was in that same waiting area with FOX News playing Hillary Clinton’s, “What difference at this point does it make?!” Yesterday I was subjected to the, “Muslims have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism!”
I’ve been disgusted with Hillary Clinton since she was the First “Lady.” To this day I am amazed at her longevity, even within the Democrat voting block. After her immoral negligence in Benghazi, her current feigned ignorance of the Muslim terror threat, and her general criminality while Secretary of State, I cannot comprehend how she retains support for a position of leadership, even the office of the President of the United States!
A few years ago I theorized that all Democrats fit into one or more of these categories:
- The Ignorant- Those lacking either knowledge or wisdom
- The Selfish- Those who prioritize, “What’s in it for me?”
- The Evil- Those who love immorality
Though I do believe that all who vote Democrat fit somewhere into the above positions, they are not there alone. The ignorant, selfish, and evil, are found in every political party. In fact, as I think on this more, I can see that these three designations sometimes describe at least a few members of each good family, congregation, and organization…and at times even my own heart.
May God graciously reveal to us, His children, our true hearts. May we also respond swiftly to His convictions and make corrections. For those who desire God’s mercy and wisdom, He says we only need to ask, and we will receive. And to those who choose to remain in rejection of God’s grace: may we recognize them, refute them, and refuse their hollow hearts!
“Behold, a king will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule in justice. Each will be like a hiding place from the wind, a shelter from the storm, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a great rock in a weary land. Then the eyes of those who see will not be closed, and the ears of those who hear will give attention. The heart of the hasty will understand and know, and the tongue of the stammerers will hasten to speak distinctly. The fool will no more be called noble, nor the scoundrel said to be honorable. For the fool speaks folly, and his heart is busy with iniquity to practice ungodliness, to utter error concerning the Lord, to leave the craving of the hungry unsatisfied, and to deprive the thirsty of drink. As for the scoundrel—his devices are evil; he plans wicked schemes to ruin the poor with lying words, even when the plea of the needy is right. But he who is noble plans noble things, and on noble things he stands.” (Isaiah 32:1-8/ESV)
