The newest Star Wars movie, “The Force Awakens,” opens in theaters this Friday. I purchased online tickets yesterday to ensure seats at the first 9AM showing. The Star Wars series began thirty eight years ago. Since then I’ve seen all of the films, many times.
The official trailer for the eighth Star Wars movie states, “When a ruthless prince rises to power and threatens galactic peace, a runaway soldier, an uncongenial scavenger, and a hot shot pilot find their fates intertwined as they embark on a journey to find the most powerful warrior in the galaxy.”
When a ficticious galaxy needs saving they search for the unexpected hero. Today a very real America needs a hero to save it. Earlier this year it was strongly predicted that only a governor, approved by the Republican Establishment, should become our next President. However, there is an outsider from Texas who has already demonstrated courage to take the necessary steps to save our nation.
Senator Ted Cruz has been a relatively stealthy member of the Republican candidate roster. As a US Senator his policy positions have been strong and intentionally measured. He has resisted opportunities to gratuitously attack fellow Conservatives. Even when he’s maligned, his reactions are composed and coherent. Cruz’s persuasive style is calm and clear, without a hint of bombast or hesitancy, traits rarely found in a public figure.
This week Cruz was attacked by Trump, the “chaos candidate” (appropriately dubbed tonight by Bush). Before that Rubio set his sites on the Texas Senator. Tonight Cruz shot back. He exposed Rubio as an intentional liar, and Trump as an undisciplined reactionary. It seems that finally Cruz’s patience has run out, and just at the right time.
Senator Cruz is a sharp Conservative. He is a determined foe of America’s enemies, from without and within. Cruz consistently applies the purest good sense to his policy positions, much like the Founding Father’s did when constructing our Constitution. Senator Ted Cruz is a great choice for a truly conservative hero, and President of the United States.
As a bonus Cruz also has a great sense of humor, which he showed tonight by quoting FDR’s grandfather, “All horse thieves are Democrats, but not all Democrats are horse thieves.”
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” (Psalm 1:1-3/ESV)
