Unemployed Partisan Looking for a Job

By: Susan Bea Good

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16/ESV)

This morning I feel as though I lost a meaningful job. Earlier this year I declined to run again as Precinct Delegate because I knew that my conscience would not allow me to promote the con-man who seemed destined to win the Republican nomination. In past elections I have knocked on doors, talked to voters, and worked with the local Republican Party in getting out the vote. Not this year, and maybe never again!

Today the slobbering Chris Christie is doubling down on his accusation that all who will not work to elect his idol are essentially working to elect Hillary Clinton. I have had enough of this rhetoric. One of my Facebook friends recently asked me if I was planning to vote for Hillary- because I’m not supporting Trump. Others have said they were disappointed in my anti-Trump stand. I have never assisted a Liberal into office and will not start now. Since both Hillary and Donald are Liberals I won’t be supporting or voting for either.

I may not be able to vote for my Party’s nominee this year but I still love my country. I realize too that the current con-man is merely a symptom of the peoples’ foolishness and greed. Those who are following Trump have either failed to understand or chosen to ignore his character. I still believe that character counts, which makes it impossible for me to support a man who has spent seventy years exemplifying ungodliness- despite what many popular preachers are saying about him these days.

For now I am without a political party and without a candidate to support this election season. However, I will never be out of a significant job. My main work is still to testify that Jesus Christ is Lord and live a life that is pleasing to Him.

“This blogger’s hope is to be an encouragement to Christ-followers as they recognize God’s Big Picture and purpose to participate in it. Adonai Eloheinu!”
